Find Your Way to Well-Being with MHealthy Rewards

Each year, MHealthy Rewards encourages qualifying benefits-eligible faculty and staff to take a few minutes to review their health, then take action to maintain or improve it. Get started today and discover programs designed to support you being your best.

How to participate in the 2016 program:

  1. Complete the confidential health questionnaire by April 15. You’ll earn a $50 reward and get a personalized health report with information to help you minimize or prevent future health problems.
  2. Also complete one qualifying healthy activity by August 31 to earn $50 more. See below for our most popular programs, as well as some new offerings.

Our 2016 program offerings give you more ways to meet your health goals and earn $50 through MHealthy Rewards. Manage weight, stress less, quit tobacco, move more, eat smarter, or drink less alcohol with these programs:

MHealthy Wellness Series

UM-Flint faculty, staff, and students, as well as the community, are invited to attend these free lunch and learn events sponsored by MHealthy, UM-Flint Human Resources, and UM-Flint Recreation Center:

  • Feb. 9: Mindfulness...Winter Koselig - Learn about mindfulness and how to employ it to help stay positive, content and interested all winter long.
  • Mar. 10: Advance Care Planning - Learn about advance care planning and your health care choices.
  • May 5: Volumetrics and Label Reading - Learn about remaking recipes, what foods fill you up, and label reading.

All events take place from 12:15 - 1 p.m., in the University Center, Michigan Room A. Also qualifies for MHealthy Rewards and $50. View flyer to learn more or call UM-Flint HR at (810) 762-3150.

Mindfulness Through Meditation

2 women meditatingMindfulness involves being in the here and now through moment-by-moment awareness. This class will provide an opportunity to practice formal mindfulness through structured meditation practice. Join in every Thursday through Feb. 25, from 6:30-7:30 p.m., at the UM-Flint Recreation Center, Room 11. Also qualifies for MHealthy Rewards and $50 (attend at least two sessions). Creating a Healthier U

Ergo Grants Available

University departments and units in need of financial help are encouraged to apply for an Ergo Grant to purchase equipment or to redesign work processes to solve ergonomic risk factors. Apply for MHealthy ergonomics grant funds.

Did You Know...

If you or a family member is at risk of developing diabetes and live in Genesee County, you can now participate in a Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) at the UM-Flint Recreation Center. Available through a partnership with the National Kidney Foundation of Michigan, DPP is a nationally-recognized, no cost lifestyle change program that has been proven to help people reduce their risk of developing diabetes. Volunteer for a Research Study

In support of U-M's research and academic mission, MHealthy posts select health and wellness related research studies in need of participants. By volunteering, you could play a role in important health and wellness research happening within our community. View volunteer opportunities.
