From the Chief Health Officer's Desk
With the fall semester underway, now is an excellent time to take stock of the many wellness resources available to you as an employee of the University of Michigan. Knowing options ahead of time can make a big difference when you or a coworker need in-the-moment support or guidance.
A resource I would like to highlight in particular is An Instructor’s Guide to Promoting Student Mental Health and Well-being. This self-paced course showcases role-appropriate ways to support students’ mental health while helping alleviate faculty stress in the process.
Also check out MHealthy’s new movement consultation option, which includes a virtual conversation with an MHealthy staff member who can discuss your goals and barriers around movement.

Hunger Action Month
Having access to nutritious food is critical to practicing healthy behaviors and thriving at work and home. September is Hunger Action Month, a time to shine a light on food and nutrition insecurity.
In support, look for Wolverine Essentials donation bins in departments across campus. Wolverine Essentials helps to ensure that UM-Flint students have access to basic needs services and resources linking them to supplemental food, housing resources and more. Resources are also available if you need support or want to help.
